All our shower grates in 3 different widths and 6 different grate styles, have been passed through the WaterMark Certification Process for drains up to 3 meters in length.
Alldrain Workmanship of the products (grates and channel) is guaranteed for 10 years.
This is subject to the correct installation of the products in accordance with our installation instructions and guidelines and in accordance with the appropriate standard (plumbing code AS3500) current at the date of installation and all relevant statutory and local requirements in the State or Territory in which the product is installed.
It is guaranteed that the stainless steel material provided is 316 grade stainless steel (or 304 grade if specified). Alldrain can offer Mill Certificates, however, we do not control the availability of these certificates.
‘Tea staining’ is common with stainless steel and is generally a maintenance or installation issue, and as such Alldrain cannot control these factors. Requests for service due to tea staining will not be accepted by Alldrain. To reduce the risk of superficial staining or tea staining, please refer to the product care statement. Individual sites and situations can have dramatically different requirements for maintenance.
The grates and channels must be kept clean, and corrosion reducer/inhibitors may need to be regularly applied. If the grates are used in or around pools we recommend the grates are electropolished regardless of the type of pool water used.
Under the Australian Consumer Law you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Stainless steel is a generally a highly durable material however regular care is recommended to keep your drain in perfect condition.
In order to maintain its original quality during the installation process and thereafter, please be aware of the points listed below:
- Stainless steel is susceptible to tea-staining due to contamination of iron materials which will lead to rust like marks. Keeping the surface free of such contaminants is advised.
- Contamination of the steel can occur if using non stainless tools or from dust, swarf or sparks settled on the stainless steel surface from cutting of other steels, stones and tiles, etc.
- Stainless steel surface finishes will also be affected by the use of acid. When cleaning tiles, stone or other surfaces with acid, please ensure NONE of the stainless steel comes into contact with the acid.
- We recommend electropolishing for pool environments or installations close to a beach.
How to care for your drain:
Clean stainless steel thoroughly prior to and after installation with a domestic stainless steel cleaner/polish.
Cleaners, industrial, commercial and domestic can contain acid. Ensure that NO acid is used on your drain.
If tea staining occurs, domestic stainless steel cleaners are sufficient to remove marks or tea-staining.
For more persistent marks use a stainless steel pot scourer to thoroughly remove any contaminant embedded on the surface of the steel, then finish the drain surface with a stainless steel cleaner & protector
